Glutathione (reduced, GSH) is an endogenous thiol tripeptide (gamma-glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine) and a central cellular antioxidant. It is studied in laboratory settings as a free-radical scavenger, an antioxidant-enzyme cofactor, and a participant in redox signaling via protein S-glutathionylation.
