Epithalon (epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide, Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG), modeled on the amino-acid composition of a pineal extract. It has been investigated in vitro and in vivo for proposed geroprotective and neuroendocrine mechanisms, including work on telomerase activity and gene-expression markers in experimental models.
